Recommended Submissions Procedure

FIRST , drop us an email at "sub.missions@jadedbum.com" when you've gathered the song or songs you feel are the best example of your approach to songwriting. Please include your reply-to email address, as well as your mailing address, and phone number (work preferably, in order to protect your home number's privacy). You may decide to let us know whether or not you've registered your works with the Library of Congress in unpublished form. Remember, copyright occurs upon creation, and registering your works as first claimant ensures that you'll have standing in Court should any litigation occur. A quick look via Telnet (or "Better Telnet") at the Library of Congress database will give you all the info you need (once a recent registration has been entered.) Should you and Jaded Bum Music sign a single song contract, we'll register, transfer, or assign your copyright, not your authorship, to Jaded Bum Music per our contract. We do not share your works with anyone else in the music industry until such time as you and Jaded Bum Music have agreed to and signed a contract.

SECOND, after receiving our reply via email (or possibly by phone), you'll be asked to send us a copy (in CD, MP3, or cassette form) of your music, as well as the lyrics to your song or songs, along with any biographical material you may want to include, and your complete contact info. Click here to visit our contact page.

THIRD, as you may have noticed on our submissions page we sometimes get backed up with new material. When you see that notice in red letters please wait until the ninety day period has expired before sending us your new material. However, you may feel free to drop us an email at any time.

Although we're a small music publishing firm, we're songwriters too, and we both respect and encourage your continued work as a writer and an artist. We hope these recommended procedures have been helpful to you...JW
